Effect of the El Niño Decaying Pace on the East Asian Summer Monsoon Circulation Pattern during Post-El Niño Summers

El Niño events vary from case to with different decaying paces. In this study, we demonstrate that the paces have distinct impacts on East Asian monsoon circulation pattern during post-El summers. For fast (FD) summers, a large-scale anomalous anticyclone dominates over Asia and North Pacific subtropical mid-latitude; whereas, display dipole northern cyclone southern for slow (SD) The difference in patterns was closely associated sea surface temperature (SST) anomaly tropics. FD cold SST anomalies tropical central-eastern warm Maritime Continent induce Northwest Pacific. contrast, Kelvin wave anchored Indian Ocean SD summers plays crucial role sustaining particular, opposite atmospheric Northeast mid-latitude are mainly modulated by stationary Rossby trains triggered eastern Finally, effect of summer decay pace climate also discussed.
